
Frances currently resides in Hobart and is studying to complete a Graduate Diploma of music studies (specialisation) at the Hobart Conservatorium on UTAS String Scholarship. Frances completed her Bachelor of Music at the School of Music, ANU studying Violin and Viola under the tutelage of Tor Fromhyr and Barbara Jane Gilby.
While studying in Canberra, Frances received two academic scholarships from ANU to perform with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (2007, 2009). Frances was accepted into the Australian Youth Orchestra in 2008 and toured interstate working with renowned conductor John Nelson. In November 2009 Frances was invited to perform as Principal Second Violin at AISOI and was awarded one of only four full scholarships.
In her final year of undergraduate study she was a finalist in the ANU Beethoven Romanze Competition, Canberra Haydn Festival Competition and recently placed second in the UTAS Postgraduate Concerto Competition. Frances regularly enjoys performing chamber music and has just returned from the highly acclaimed Bangalow Chamber Music Festival directed by Paul Dean.
Frances is the Principal Second Violin of the Tasmania Discovery Orchestra.
